Relationship Workshops Bringing you and your partner closer together
Couples' Weekends in Brighton
"It’s been transformative for me as a person, and for us"
Weekend couples workshops that connect you at a new level
Join other couples for a weekend relationship workshop that will help you build closeness with your partner and communicate better about the things that matter.
In this weekend workshop you will learn relationship skills together and you'll be guided through deep conversations beyond where you've been able to go before.
You will learn how to:
Untangle repeating arguments
Be heard and understood by each other
Forgive emotional injuries
Reconnect through intimacy
Celebrate your strengths as a couple
Commit to ways to keep your love alive
You will be supported step by step by the two experienced relationship counsellors running the course.
Hold Me Tight is an internationally acclaimed workshop method based on the theory and practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). You and your partner are introduced to a new understanding of what you need in your relationship to feel safe, appreciated and loved.
Experience the Seven Transformative Conversations
The workshop is structured around seven transformative conversations taken from the book 'Hold Me Tight' by Dr Sue Johnson, the co-founder of EFT.
The 7 Conversations:
1. Recognising Demon Dialogues:
You and your partner identify your negative, destructive and self-reinforcing patterns of arguing. This is the foundation for learning a new language to share your deeper feelings and needs.
2. Finding the Raw Spots:
Here, you learn to look beyond immediate, impulsive reactions to identify the raw spots and recognise your hidden emotions.
3. Revisiting a Rocky Moment:
This conversation gives you chance to take a real conflict situation you have had together and unpack the patterns that occur.
4. Hold Me Tight Conversation:
This conversation is at the heart of the workshop. It moves you and your partner towards being more accessible, emotionally responsive, and deeply engaged with each other. You each share and hear each other's vulnerabilities.
5. Forgiving Injuries:
Emotional injuries may be forgiven but they never disappear. So they need to become integrated into your conversations as demonstrations of renewal and connection. Knowing how to find and offer forgiveness empowers you to strengthen your bond.
6. Bonding Through Sex and Touch:
Here you explore the emotional connection that leads to better sex and how better sex creates deeper emotional connection.
7. Keeping Your Love Alive:
This last conversation is about learning the skills to maintain and celebrate your loving connection. You will be guided to together choose and commit to new practices that renew and strengthen your bond.
The workshop includes:
Short, information-packed presentations
Simple, practical (and some fun) exercises
Videos of real couples having each of the 7 conversations
Private time with your partner to work through the 7 guided, in-depth conversations over the 2 days
If either you or your partner are particularly private people - don't worry!...
You and your partner will work privately through guided exercises.
You'll have your own private table and chairs seperate from the others.
We play background music so there's no chance of being overheard.
There is no need for either of you to speak in the group or to share your thoughts with anyone but your partner. There is only a no-pressure opportunity to do so if you wish. It can be inspiring and supporting to see other couples grappling with similar issues, but we guarantee there will be no pressure or expectation.
